Psychotherapy
Sometimes emotional challenges gradually find their way into everyday life until they begin to affect your mood, your thoughts and your sense of balance. You may notice a persistent low mood, a sense of exhaustion, or the feeling that things which once brought you joy no longer reach you in the same way.
Worries and anxieties may begin to take up more space — constant rumination, inner tension, diffuse anxiety or more specific fears. Mild depressive moods, anxiety or adjustment reactions after difficult life events can present themselves in this way.
Emotional strain can also express itself through the body. Physical sensations such as palpitations, dizziness, tightness in the chest or persistent tinnitus can be deeply unsettling, especially when attention becomes increasingly focused on bodily signals. Health-related anxiety is a common and understandable response to stress.
These experiences do not have to remain permanent. Therapy can help you regain stability, confidence and a greater sense of ease. In a supportive, thoughtful and stabilising therapeutic setting, we work together to understand what is happening and gradually develop new ways of responding.
My work is mainly informed by cognitive behavioural therapy, complemented where helpful by psychodynamic perspectives and schema-focused work. This approach allows us to address both present symptoms and deeper patterns such as long-standing beliefs, emotional responses and early relational experiences.
The aim is not only to understand these patterns, but also to support meaningful change in everyday life — helping you move from constant thinking and worry back into experience, action and a renewed sense of inner stability.
I offer therapy in English in Munich for individuals experiencing anxiety, emotional distress or adjustment difficulties.

Does therapy replace medical or psychiatric treatment ?
No. A medical evaluation is generally important before beginning therapy, as psychological symptoms can sometimes have physical causes. Changes in mood, anxiety, exhaustion or certain physical complaints should therefore first be medically assessed.
I am not permitted to prescribe medication. In some situations medication can nevertheless be helpful or necessary. In these cases, treatment by a psychiatrist or other medical specialist can complement the therapeutic process.
How do you work therapeutically ?
My work is mainly informed by cognitive behavioural therapy, while also integrating psychodynamic and schema-focused approaches when appropriate. This means we explore both current symptoms and underlying patterns that may have developed over time — such as beliefs about oneself, emotional responses or early relational experiences.
The aim is to understand these patterns while also supporting practical change in everyday life.
Are the costs covered by health insurance ?
Therapy is generally offered on a self-pay basis. Some private health insurance plans or supplementary policies may reimburse part of the costs if the contract includes treatment by a Heilpraktiker for psychotherapy. Coverage depends on your individual insurance policy and should be clarified directly with your insurer in advance.
