FAQs
What do I gain from coaching?
Appreciative and professional guidance through a challenging life phase. Through coaching, you gain clarity, decision-making skills, joy in life, confidence, and inner balance. You also save time. Solution-oriented conflict resolution saves you from a often long and painful period in which you try unsuccessfully to resolve your conflicts and crises on your own.
Is coaching therapy?
No.
Psychotherapy specifically treats psychological or psychosomatic disorders using psychological methods. Coaching often starts earlier than psychotherapy and can significantly contribute to preventing the development of psychological problems and pathologies.
How do you work?
Solution-focused and future-oriented. I combine methods (link to “Methods”) from systemic coaching with psychodynamics and behavioral therapy. We determine together which approach is suitable for your needs. My work is empathetic and respectful, and there’s always room for humor.
What is the duration of a coaching process?
In individual coaching, 10 individual sessions of 60 minutes each are effective. In couples coaching, a longer coaching session of 90-120 minutes is advisable. I recommend a consistent coaching schedule because regularity keeps the thread of our thoughts and conversations from breaking and thus promotes the positive process.
Will my health insurance cover coaching?
No, but in Germany — without giving any tax advise hereby — you can claim coaching as a tax deduction. Additionally, as a self-payer, you have more freedom to decide on the duration and regularity of your coaching and maintain your privacy.
Can I attend couples coaching without my partner?
If you come alone, it becomes individual coaching. This can be equally valuable in addressing relationship issues. We can work together on how to proactively shape the relationship system. Within couples coaching, occasional individual sessions with just one partner are also helpful.
